Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, & Chris Bosh celebrate Championship with DJ Irie!!!

As Dwayne Wade said in his opening remarks, this was the 5th celebration party in only 3 days! This one took place on Saturday night, June 23, 2012, at Bamboo Nightclub in South Beach.

Wade was joined by Lebron James, Chris Bosh, and a whole club filled with Miami Heat fans! This night was definitely EPIC!!! You can tell the Big 3 are still feeling the championship buzz!!! GO HEAT!!!

La Carreta; The Miami Celebration Spot

"Only in Miami" is a phrase that we often hear in the humid melting pot that is the Magic City. There are just certain customs and traditions that you would never witness past Broward County. Things that are truly unique to the Latin-infused culture that Miami has to offer.

Well, only in Miami would people fleece their kitchens of their pots and pans and wooden spoons, and congregate around a restaurant to celebrate the Miami Heat's amazing championship victory into the wee hours of the night. When something big happens such as the Florida Marlins winning the World Series or when the universally detested Fidel Castro gave up power to his brother Raul, La Carreta Restaurant in Westchester is the gathering spot for the local Miami community. Walk in past La Carreta's coffee window on a busy Saturday night and there's always a lively crowd talking, arguing and sharing stories! It is a microcosm of Miami culture; older people discussing politics, police officers on break, young men and woman sharing an authentic Cuban meal, middle-aged bikers on Harleys, and the full spectrum of Miami characters: Cuban, Latin American, and American alike.

The restaurant itself is surely unique, but what we wondered was what draws a large community of people to celebrate at the same spot (especially since it's a chain) for these big moments?

Throughout the Heat's playoff run, the city has been on edge. Miamians wanted a championship so bad they could taste it. This was our year, and we were all confident that our team could do it. But the one thing we could be sure of was that if and when they won, La Carreta on Bird Road would be flooded with people celebrating. The sounds of banging pots, honking horns and Spanish music blasting from cars would fill the streets and impromptu parades and conga lines would jam the sidewalks.

Last night, Miami did not disappoint! The Heat ended their glorious Finals run against OKC 4-1, and the Miami community did what it does best: jubilant unapologetic celebration. Being born and raised in Miami, I know firsthand what this is all about. And this is only the first of many celebrations to come this summer. LOL. GO HEAT!!! 2012 NBA CHAMPIONS!!!!

Heat 2 Thunder 1 - JON BARRY SUCKS

Jon Barry really is a joke. Since retiring from the NBA in 2006 and becoming a sports television analyst for ESPN, he has drawn the ire of a lot of fans, especially in Miami. For a guy that constantly criticizes current players, specifically Lebron James, he only averaged 5.7 points throughout his 12-year career. After the Heat beat the Thunder yesterday to take a 2-1 series lead in the NBA Finals, a fan was caught on camera behind Magic Johnson in the postgame with a sign that says "Jon Barry Sucks"... Thought it was pretty funny. LETS GO HEAT!!! 2 MORE TO GO!!!!

Epic Game 6 Performance by Lebron James

As you know, if you were watching game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, you saw will, greatness, and determination. NBA MVP Lebron James basically imposed his will on the Boston Celtics and did it with pure confidence, attitude, and ferociousness. Lebron had 45 points, including 30 in the 1st half alone, to go along with 15 rebounds and 5 assists. He had the look of a man possessed, ready, and determined to lead his team to victory as Miami tied the series at 3 with game 7 headed back to Miami on Saturday. It was a feel-good story for Heat fans and basketball fans across the globe. Hate him or love him, Lebron makes you watch and keeps you entertained. One thing I won't forget is that stone-faced look he had in the 4th quarter of yesterday's game. WOW!!!!!!

Heat Choke Away Game 5 - Most Annoying Team Ever!!!

So last night was a horrible night if you're a Heat fan and saw game 5. What a drag! To watch your team play tense, scared, aloof, desperate on their OWN HOME FLOOR!!! U kidding me? It's like they're intimidated by those guys wearing the Boston Celtic uniforms. It was a miserable feeling watching this game, knowing your team is on the verge of self-destruction. I guess it didn't help that I was so fucking sore from the gym the previous day. Anyway, I came across this article from Chris Joseph blog on the Miami New Times that actually made me feel better after a game like this. It was magnificent and I encourage those who are Heat fans and need some sort of therapy to read on! Here's the link...

Oh and btw, Erik Spoelstra SUCKS!!!!

Heat Fans - Fickle or Cocky? Loyal or Bandwagon?

Sun-Sentinel staff writer Ihosvani Rodriguez asks "Have those fickle Heat fans earned the right to be cocky?" And no, they're not all fickle.

I mean who cares about that whole losing thing up in Boston right...

The Best Arnold Schwarzenegger Impression.. Courtesy of Aries Spears!!!

Aries Spears re-enacts the restaurant scene in the movie "Heat" between Al Pacino and Robert De Niro and then imagines that same scene with Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger instead which leads to a hilarious impressions of Arnold's mannerisms.
